Old Address Format Registry entry
Specifies whether addresses are stored using the same data structure as Canada Post postal data (false) or whether an old address format is used in which the whole address is stored as a single field (true).
Note: Only used in Canadian Registries.
Addresses stored in the Canada Post postal database are broken into component parts (e.g. Street Number, Suite Number, Street Name, etc.), each of which is stored in a separate field. When using Canada Post postal data, it is best to have input data fields that match those used by Canada Post. The default case of the Old Address Format Registry entry is false
, and assumes that addresses are recorded in the same format as Canada Post postal data. If the entry is set to true
, any processing assumes that the address is condensed into a single address field, e.g 604/455 East Boundary Road
, and that some parsing of the address is required.
